About Rippling

Rippling is the first way for businesses to manage all of their HR & IT—payroll, benefits, computers, apps, and more—in one unified workforce platform.
By connecting every business system to one source of truth for employee data, businesses can automate all of the manual work they normally need to do to make employee changes. Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can just click a button and set up a new employees’ payroll, health insurance, work computer, and third-party apps—like Slack, Zoom, and Office 365—all within 90 seconds.
Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $700M from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, and Bedrock—and was named one of America’s best startup employers by Forbes (#12 out of 500).

About the Role:

Rippling lets you effortlessly manage your employees’ payroll, benefits, devices, apps, and more—in one place.  Rippling is the only workforce platform that brings all of your employee data—not just pieces of it—into one unified record.  That way, you don’t have to reconcile and enter data in 100 different systems.  This approach creates “magic moments” where data across HR, IT, and Finance systems can be combined in ways that have never been available to customers before.  As a company, we take a lot of pride in the value that good data creates for our customers.  We are excited to build out our internal data science and data analytics capabilities to add even more value to the customer experience.  The Director of Go-to-Market (GTM) and Financial Data Analytics will scale our business intelligence, data analytics, and data science capabilities around all metrics related to the Rippling sales, marketing, and financial dataset.  This individual will partner with the Data Engineering and Business Systems teams while working closely with the business leaders and executives across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Accounting and Risk teams.  We are looking for high-level executive communication and strategic thinking as we scale the Rippling business for the next phase of growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with business leaders and executives in Sales, Marketing, Finance, Accounting and Risk teams to ensure data driven decision making.

  • Architect, develop, and implement the data management platform vision and roadmap for sales, marketing and financial data analytics.  The projects this team will manage include data analytics on marketing efficiency metrics, sales efficiency metrics, sales forecasting and predictive modeling, as well as revenue and P&L modeling in BI tools.

  • Participate meaningfully in business and technical discussions to ensure that we are using the best possible technologies and approaches to advance our data discovery, quality, metric standardization, and data science and machine learning capabilities.

  • Build and drive industry best practices for data governance for the organization working with various cross-functional partners specifically around Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Accounting areas.

  • Lead, mentor, and grow our GTM and Financial Data Analytics team.  Drive impact at scale, and recruit and manage high-performing technical leaders.

  • Build a team that delivers insights to inform and influence decisions related to the sales and marketing strategy as well as the impact to the financial story today (real-time P&L visibility) and for years to come (predictive modeling).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.  Advanced degree is a plus.

  • 10 to 15+ years of experience leading data science and data analytics/business intelligence teams.

  • Organizational leadership experience, including experience collaborating with teams, business leaders and executives.

  • Experience navigating through ambiguity of blue-sky thinking and undefined data problems.

  • Commitment to building inclusive teams and team culture.

  • Passion for data and metrics.

If you don’t meet all of the requirements listed here, we still encourage you to apply. No job description is perfect, and we might find an even more suitable opportunity that matches your skills and experience.
