About The Role

Rippling leverages a suite of financial infrastructure services to offer our payroll, PEO, and other financial products and in doing so needs to ensure that we manage the various fraud, credit, and compliance risks that come with participating in the global financial ecosystem.

The Risk Engineering team manages the tools, systems, and controls used to manage financial, compliance, and operational risks across Rippling's products and platforms while ensuring we provide a best-in-class user experience for our expanding customer base.

We are looking for a founding member of the team to lead development efforts both within the risk organization and in conjunction with products teams, working across codebases and making significant progress in the short-term.

What You'll Do: 

  • Engineer and maintain innovative, customer-centric, high performance, secure and robust solutions 
  • Build the platform systems that power common capabilities to evaluate user lifecycle events for fraud, credit, and operational risk within the Rippling ecosystem
  • Develop framework for implementing customer-level risk controls across Rippling product suite
  • Architect & maintain tools the risk organization uses to analyze customer activity and implement risk policy
  • Partner with various product teams to implement risk controls to combat fraud and credit risk.
  • Build data ingestions and integrations with third-party systems supporting risk data needs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent 
  • Minimum 3 years of development experience 
  • Experience with the full software development lifecycle for a large-scale software product
  • Experience with web technologies and system design
  • You want to be part of a team of the most talented, forward-thinking engineers in the industry 
  • You’re passionate about being in a product-focused environment where everyone cares deeply about customer impact 

Nice-to-haves: 

  • Hands-on development experience using Python, Django, MongoDB, React, AWS
  • Domain knowledge in Risk Engineering
