Is Rippling’s data destruction actually secure?
Yep! Extremely, in fact. Devices are professionally wiped according to NIST SP 800-88, ISO, and ADISA standards. You also get a Certificate of Destruction for every device, automatically saved and downloadable from your Rippling dashboard.
What devices are eligible?
Currently, Mac and Windows laptops stored in Rippling’s U.S. warehouses can be sold through Device Buyback. Support for additional device types may expand in the future.
How much money can we get back?
Resale value depends on model, age, and condition, but most laptops return meaningful credit. Some customers have even covered an entire year of Rippling IT through buyback credit.
Your credit appears on your next Rippling invoice once the device is processed.
Is there an extra cost?
There’s no added subscription cost for Device Buyback. A small per-device logistics fee is taken out of the resale amount, and the net value is returned to you as credit on your Rippling bill.
Do I need any additional tools or vendors?
Nope. Everything including retrieval, storage, valuation, wiping, resale, and certified destruction happens inside Rippling. No external portals, no spreadsheets, no third-party coordination.
Can I track which devices were destroyed or resold?
Yes. Every device shows a full chain-of-custody inside Rippling, including:

Do we have to ship devices ourselves?
