On August 1, Albert Strasheim will join Rippling as CTO and SVP, Engineering.

“Albert will be an incredible steward of the engineering team and our engineering culture. I can’t think of anyone better suited to bridging the gap from where we are today to where we need to be as we continue to scale. I think he will prove a transformational executive for the business,” said Parker Conrad, Rippling CEO and Co-Founder.

Albert will lead the engineering team as it continues to push the capabilities of Rippling’s products and the platform itself. His experience both as a technical leader and data-obsessed engineer will help inspire a world-class bench of engineering talent and bring new levels of creative thinking to Rippling’s novel employee data platform.

“I’m excited to be joining the rapidly expanding Rippling team,” says Albert. “I truly believe that Rippling’s platform will power hundreds of applications across HR, IT, and beyond—everything you need to run any company in the 21st century. Building these products and scaling the underlying platform represents one of the most unique and exciting engineering challenges I’ve encountered in my career.”

Albert was previously the VP of Engineering at Segment, where he spent more than five years building and leading the infrastructure and product teams responsible for creating Segment’s market-leading Customer Data Platform product. Under Albert’s leadership, the Segment team scaled core infrastructure and data volumes handled by the product by more than an order of magnitude while also recruiting a world-class engineering team. The efforts culminated in the company’s $3.2B acquisition by Twilio in 2020.

Before Segment, he held senior engineering positions at D2iQ and Cloudfare, where his teams worked through challenges including large-scale data infrastructure, container platforms, security, networking, and more. Albert received a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Engineering from Stellenbosch University.

We’re thrilled to welcome Albert! And we cannot wait to see where his leadership, transformational insights, and technical expertise will take Rippling’s Unified Workforce Platform.
