Recipe Overview

Employees typically accrue vacation time (or hours) throughout the year, according to what they’re allotted under the company's policy. What that means is that sometimes—especially early in the year—an employee may end up requesting more time off than they’ve accrued up to that point.

But that shouldn’t automatically bar an employee from receiving that time off. Instead, it’s up to the manager’s discretion whether or not to grant their request.

With this Recipe, you’ll be able to stay on top of these PTO requests, that require a little special attention. When an employee’s PTO request exceeds the number of hours they’ve accrued, Rippling will automatically send a notification to the employee and their manager, alerting them to the PTO discrepancy.
