Configurable profiles is the latest feature in our HRIS that enables customization of the employee profile to illuminate what matters most to your business while empowering your employees to self-serve and benefit from easy access to important data.

One of the most powerful aspects of Rippling is that it brings all your employee data scattered across your HR, IT, finance, and third-party systems into one unified platform.

With the release of configurable profiles, we’re making it even easier to leverage your employee data to empower your teams. You can now add, rename, and rearrange tabs, as well as add custom fields and embed reports directly within the employee profile. Customizing your employee profiles on Rippling is more than just changing the look of a profile; it’s about bringing data to the forefront for quick and informed decision-making. 

For example, a field that may be particularly important for companies that operate globally is language proficiency. Admins can now embed the “languages” field at the top of every employee’s profile–or just that of specific teams like customer success representatives–making it easy to know who can be assigned to each region. If there are multiple pieces of information that need to be easily accessible, the admin can even create a new tab to house these custom fields, including languages spoken, work permits, citizenship, and so on.

Set dynamic viewing permissions for ultimate customization

Configurable profiles also allow admins to establish permissions so the layout of employee profiles dynamically changes based on who the viewer is.

This means that an admin, a non-admin (such as a manager), and the employee will each see different information tailored to their specific needs and permissions. This flexibility ensures that sensitive information remains secure while still promoting transparency and accessibility.

Imagine a trucking company with a fleet of drivers who each have different levels of commercial licenses. One driver, for example, may be licensed to drive up to a seven-ton truck, while another can drive up to a 13-ton truck. Admins can now configure the employee profiles to feature a field that displays each driver’s license information directly within the Personal Information tab. They can also ensure that only schedulers who assign drivers to vehicles and need to verify the driver’s license can see this field.

You can now embed any report directly into an employee’s profile. Embeddable reports allow your team members to see relevant data directly on the employee profile without having to switch between apps. 

For example, a controller could attach a report to every employee’s profile that shows their spending patterns and is only visible to admins and non-admin managers. This would then allow managers to easily monitor spend among their team.
