About Rippling

Rippling is the first way for businesses to manage all of their HR & IT—payroll, benefits, computers, apps, and more—in one unified workforce platform.
By connecting every business system to one source of truth for employee data, businesses can automate all of the manual work they normally need to do to make employee changes. Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can just click a button and set up a new employees’ payroll, health insurance, work computer, and third-party apps—like Slack, Zoom, and Office 365—all within 90 seconds.
Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $700M from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, and Bedrock—and was named one of America’s best startup employers by Forbes (#12 out of 500).

About The Role

Permissions and Core Libraries team is composed of hardworking, forward-thinking engineers who develop software to make Rippling fast, secure, reliable, and available to its customers.

In the Permissions space, you will build solutions that automate, streamline and standardize access control across the Rippling ecosystem. Since every customer request in Rippling will go through this access control layer, you will architect solutions that offer the highest degree of availability and performance.

In the Core Libraries space, you will diagnose, and tackle complex distributed systems problems and provide solutions that have a fundamental impact at a massive scale. You will define and deliver libraries that enable engineers to build reliable and efficient services.

This is a unique opportunity to work on both product and platform layers at the same time. We obsess over the scalability and extensibility of platform solutions, ensuring that solutions will meet the needs across the breadth of Rippling's product suite, along with the applications of tomorrow. The Permissions and Core Libraries team collaborates closely with many product and engineering teams across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional work experience.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience in building projects with good abstractions and architecture.
  • Comfortable with developing scalable and extendable core services used in many products.

If you don’t meet all of the requirements listed here, we still encourage you to apply. No job description is perfect, and we might find an even more suitable opportunity that matches your skills and experience.
